CMS College of Science and Commerce is a premier institution based in Coimbatore for higher education. It was established in 1988 by the CMS Educational and Charitable Trust, a non-profit organization. As a centre for academic excellence, CMS offers affordable and quality education to thousands of aspirants every year. Our students excel in various curricular fields have bought various accolades to our institution. The College follows a rigorous academic schedule which is complemented by a varied spectrum of co-curricular activities, providing the students with opportunities to display their creativity and talent.
Spread over a 26 acre complex with excellent infrastructure, the campus can be justifiably proud of a peaceful, congenial atmosphere, ideal for academic pursuit. CMS offers 29 Undergraduate courses and 15 Postgraduate courses besides 16 research programmes.

Our college received the accolade of Autonomy in 2007, marking it as a turning point in curriculum design and development. It has enabled the institution to frame its own syllabus, effectively implementing creative and innovative programmes in teaching, learning and evaluation, while making existing programmes more career-oriented through an efficient system of review & redesigning. Each discipline has a Board of Studies that is met annually revisits the syllabi/curriculum, which then goes for final ratification to the Academic Council with the Principal as its Chairperson, Heads of Departments and a University Representative as its members.
For Curriculum Development (CD), the institution follows a three-step approach, involving feedback on its utility, performance from students, faculty, parents, alumni, industries. We conduct In-depth trend analysis, seminars, and workshops, thrust area identification.
The industry trends and societal projections for the next 5 years are done with the availability of experts, expertise, training, tools and techniques. The curriculum proposed is subject to annual review at the meetings of the Board of Studies. Once in three years the departments undertake a total review/ revision of the curriculam.
