The overall objective of the National Service scheme is educational and service to the community. It is a student-centered programme in which projects are implemented by the NSS volunteers in the community in close collaboration with the clientele community and it provides vast scope for the students interaction with the people.
The National Service Scheme of CMS College of Science and Commerce is functioning with 100 undergraduate students, along with NSS Programme Officer.
The NSS cell has organised various seminars and workshops viz, Career Guidance, Empowerment of Women, Girl Child Education and Population, AIDS Awareness, Environmental Awareness, Women and Health, Communal Harmony, Leadership Training Programmes, Consumer Awareness, Road Safety, Tree Planting and Blood Donation Camps.

The Army Headquarters sanctioned an NCC Senior Division Company during the academic year 2008-09. The company was inaugurated on 9th July 2008.
An MOU was signed between the Centre for Participatory and Online Programmes of the School of Distance Education, Bharathiar University and the CMS College of Science and Commerce on 25th July 2008 to offer various programmes from the academic year 2008-09. The university also recognized the college as a center for conducting the MBA Examination of the School of Distance Education. Another MOU was signed between M/s Sify Technologies India Ltd. and CMS College of Science and Commerce to conduct Online examination of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance.
- The college has signed MOUs with James Cook University,
Australia, Worcester University and Wolverhampton University,
- Students of the institution can complete their MBA Degree either in
the Singapore Campus or the Australian Campus of James Cook
University, Northern Queensland, Western Australia - 5 students.
- Worcester University, London has signed an MOU with the
institution. Fresh graduates from the institution can join M.Sc.
Management and graduates with one year industry experience can
join MBA at the University - 16 students.

in Biosciences is to be completed soon.
OISCA Iinternational : 'Cultivate hearts and skills to promote nature, promote earth-oriented youth'. OISCA has always believed in promoting human welfare and harmony between humanity and the natural environment. The OISCA of CMS College is functioning with 24 members along with 82 members in "Youth Forum".
Theatre Workshop : Every year theatre workshops are conducted for 100 selected students of the college. Students are given good training in script writing, direction and acting. A team of highly talented faculty conduct the workshop every year.
Fine Arts Association : The cultural and literary activities of the college are monitored by the Fine Arts Association. Cultural competitions are conducted at the collegiate as well as intercollegiate level by the Association to hone the talents of the students. The inauguration of the Fine Arts Association was conducted on 26th September 2008
Science Club : The club aims to develop scientific spirit among students. It is instrumental in improving scientific vocabulary, logical thinking and general knowledge.
Junior Jaycee wing, Fine Arts Association, Youth Red Cross, Nature Club, Debate Club, Tamil Mandram, Language Association are few other clubs that enrich the extra curricular activities.
PEARL is the campus e-mag. It is jointly sponsored by the Deccan Chronicle and CMS College of Science and Commerce. Pearl aims to develop and nurture the creative talent among the students and faculty. From September, 2009 Pearl is available in print also. Access Pearl at www.cmscbe.com/pearl.htm
Parent Teachers Association (PTA)
In order to create a good rapport between parents and staff, the PTA was introduced in CMS College of Science and Commerce. The first meeting of the PTA was conducted in a grand manner in the year 2004 and every year the PTA meet is conducted in the even semesters. Such meetings become the venue for active interaction between the faculty and parents. Often parents come forward with constructive suggestions to improve the functioning of the college. The office bearers of the PTA have been rendering all help to create an academic atmosphere conducive for the pursuit of higher education.
